Kyoto was the resident of Imperial families for over 1000 years from 794.
In 2007, the Kyoto Protocol was approved at the Kyoto Conference Hall, only 7 km away from Brighton Hotel. There we committed ourselves to be a responsible member of global family.
Established in 1988 and named after a British resort, Brighton in East Sussex where the King and the aristocrats spent much of their leisure time, Brighton Hotel is an urban resort hotel where you can comfort yourself with the sun, water and greenery in the heart of Kyoto.
Since its establishment in 1988, the hotel has been privileged to enjoy serving esteemed guests from in and out of Kyoto.
The Mayor of Brighton kindly attended our opening in 1988. Before the opening, the city of Brighton accepted our staff for British hospitality training.
The residences of the Tea Masters, the Noh theatre, the studios of traditional artists are all in the vicinity of hotel. It is the district chosen by the ancestors of these masters who sought a place to ennoble their sense of art.
The masters of traditional arts have been passing down their duty in their families for more than 400 years in the area where the hotel is situated.
